MKS Law promotes two lawyers to new Of Counsel positions

Anna Gilliland and Jamie James are promoted to Of Counsel roles.

Thanks in part to our firm’s expanding case load, we are happy to announce that two of our lawyers have recently been promoted to the new position of “Of Counsel”.

Anna Gilliland, a solicitor-advocate whose work concentrates on complex cross-border disputes, and Jamie James, a barrister who has worked with us for many years on some of our most important asset recovery matters, are both being elevated today.

Welcoming the announcement, Martin Kenney, Head of Firm at MKS Law, said:

“Both Anna and Jamie are exceptionally talented lawyers who have brought a great deal of depth and commitment to our firm.”

“I am proud to recognise their achievements on behalf of our clients, on what are often challenging and complex international matters. They are both a credit to the firm.”

Anna Gilliland added:

“I’m grateful to the firm and to Martin for giving me a chance to expand my client base within MKS Law’s international fold. I’m looking forward to continuing that work as Of Counsel.”

Jamie James added:

“I’ve always enjoyed the work with MKS Law, including on important matters such as representing the liquidators of Stanford International Bank in their actions recovering value for 22,000 victims of the Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme.”

Anna and Jamie’s promotions come at a time when MKS Law is expanding its work across the board, including hiring two new junior lawyers – Christa Anthony from St Lucia and Jaavonne Taylor from Jamaica – and achieving its first ever global ranking with Chambers and Partners for its dispute resolution work.
