Duration: 1 July – 14 August
Background: Aaliyah is a candidate from BVI Finance Tomorrow’s Leaders Internship Programme – Summer Intern 2026

Aaliyah F. Imran has recently been described as a “rising force”.

Our newest summer intern was born in Tortola, on the British Virgin Islands, but has also lived in the USA and UK. She credits both her upbringing in the VI, as well as internationally, for helping shape the person she is today.

“I feel like I could walk into any room, anywhere, and be able to communicate and get along with others. I feel like it has made me an open person, not closed in a shell … It has just widened my knowledge on how to socialise with people and to accept people.”

She also credits her mother, who calls her a “miracle baby”, for being by her side through thick-and-thin.

“She has always told me that I was destined to go far and achieve great things. During her pregnancy and my birth, she experienced a life-threatening complication where both of us could have lost our lives …That experience is the reason my middle name is Faith. It serves as a constant reminder to keep believing, even during life’s most difficult moments.”

Aaliyah is shortly to begin an LLB at Birmingham City University in the UK, having previously studied Law, Criminology, Psychology, and Business at college in the city.
